At Physiocare, our dedicated team of experienced physiotherapists offer the highest clinical standards combined with a personal, caring service.
Thousands of patients have benefited from our approach since we opened our doors in 1992. Our physiotherapists are trained to the highest standards, maintained through regular training and development, ensuring that you receive an exceptional level of care.
We recognise the importance of identifying the underlying cause of a problem as the only sure-fire way of eliminating the condition. As experts in treating joint and muscular complaints, we know that a problem manifesting itself in one part of the body may be entirely due to an imbalance somewhere apparently unrelated.
With a clear diagnosis, we can teach you how to prevent it from recurring, something often overlooked by other clinics. That’s why we adopt a rigorous assessment process with all our new patients. At Physiocare, we treat conditions, not symptoms.

A doctor’s referral is not necessary to see a physiotherapist. However, some private health insurance policies do require a doctor’s referral before they will agree to cover your costs so we recommend you check the details of your policy before you start any treatment.
Although all our physiotherapists are experienced in all the usual problems that present for physiotherapy, they all have particular areas of interest and specialised areas of expertise. When booking your initial appointment, the receptionist will ask you the nature of the problem so that we can make sure that you see the most appropriate physiotherapist.
Physiotherapy can help with a broad range of problems including:
- Soft tissue injuries, including pulled muscles and ligaments
- Joint pain and stiffness
- Following surgery
- Posture pain
- Back and neck pain
- Headaches, dizziness and vertigo
- Women’s health problems, including stress incontinence and problems following surgery
If you are unsure whether Physiotherapy may be of help the Receptionist can arrange for you to speak to a physiotherapist before making a decision regarding treatment.
Your Physiotherapist will greet you in reception and show you through to a private treatment room where you will be asked a series of questions about your problem, what symptoms you have, when they first started, what activities aggravate or ease your symptoms, etc. You will be asked about what medication you are taking so it is best to write this down to bring with you.
Once your physiotherapist has gone through these initial questions, he or she will undertake a physical examination. This will involve asking you to do a series of movements and specialist tests which will help your physiotherapist to determine the true nature and cause of the problem. You will be asked to undress, so it is best to wear or bring with you some shorts and a vest-like top. Your dignity will be respected at all times.
It is helpful for the physiotherapist if you bring with you any X ray or scan reports and a list of any medications you are taking. If your problem could be sports-related, please bring your current training shoes and any orthotic shoe inserts you may have been prescribed in the past.
Following your initial assessment, your Physiotherapist will be able to sayhow many treatments they think you will need to have and over what period of time.
Your Physiotherapist will explain the nature of the problem and tell you whether Physiotherapy can help. Every treatment plan is specific to you and your problem. We will always try to educate you about your condition. This will enable you to get a better understanding of the potential influence that lifestyle and activities can play in causing or aggravating your problem. Therapy might involve various treatment methods including manual therapy such as soft tissue massage, mobilisations and manipulation, exercise therapy to develop posture and core body control and various electrotherapy modalities.

What our clients say
Here are our most recent testimonials. You can read them all here.
Treatment to date has been tailored exactly to my needs and been very thorough. Without doubt the best and most effective I have had in 10 years of chronic back pain. Margaret is an absolute professional, very knowledgeable and most importantly is making a difference!
Elizabeth I want to thank you for the excellent care and treatment you gave me. It really made all the difference and prevented surgery on my back.
I have a lot to thank Physiocare for! Having taken up skating at the grand old age of 45, 2 years later I could call myself a gold medal winner after competing in British Synchronised Skating National Opens 2010. This would never have happened without the expert care I received for a serious knee injury after a very heavy fall whilst training just days before the competition. As I continue in my quest for further medals there is no doubt I will be calling on this experienced teams expertise to keep me fit and on track.
